Community rules

Post by Mikayla »

This is a forum for MAP activism, inclusive to all MAPs, regardless of contact stance, ethnicity, sexuality, gender identity, age, culture, background and so on. As such, the rules are made in an attempt to create a safe and inclusive space for all MAPs and allies, and to enable us to focus on our activism, in a friendly and cooperative way. The rules are also to make sure all content on this site remains entirely legal in all major jurisdictions.

Please note that private messages on this site are not encrypted in any way, and fully visible to staff. So the rules apply there too unless otherwise noted.

If staff decides you are violating a rule, staff may edit or remove your post or uploaded file, or ask you to do so. Repeated or severe rule violation may get you banned.

Rules:
  • Pick a username that is easy to write and say, and that is unique to you. Do not let your whole username only be spaces, numbers or special characters. You can have spaces, numbers and special characters too if you want, but your username should be primarily letters. Do not intentionally copy someone else username, whether from here or another MAP community. Do not use impolite language in your username, such as profanity, sexual references, slurs, etc. Do not pick a username intended to trick other members, such as "admin". Staff may ask you to change your username if we find it may violate these rules.
  • Always be kind to other members, even when they are in the wrong. Assume they mean well, and ask for clarification what they mean, or tell how you think about things. Do not ever attack or personally insult another member. Do not advocate for removing other peoples rights. Do not defend a person that is advocating for removing other peoples rights. If you have a problem with a member, report their post or contact staff.
  • Do not do anti-c or pro-c specific activism here. We encourage all our members to also engage in activism that is specific for their contact stance, but not here. This forum is about activism for MAP rights we all can agree on regardless of contact stance. It is okay to tell which other places for contact specific activism that exist, including linking to them.
  • This is not a place for contact stances. It is okay to talk about contact stances with the intention of guiding our activism, so it really is inclusive to all MAPs regardless of contact stance. But it is not okay to tell what your contact stance is, what you feel about child-adult sex, child porn or age of consent. It is not okay to talk in a way where you attempt to be neutral on the matter either, as that is also implying a contact stance. It is not okay to argue another contact stance is wrong in any way, or suggesting that people with a certain contact stance are of lesser worth or a burden to the MAP movement in any way. If someone wishes to discuss any of these topics with you, it is fine to do so in private messages.
  • Do not use this site to fantasy share or picture share, or to approach other members with romantic or sexual intentions. When talking about sexual things, use a neutral language. Sometimes more intimate relationships develop naturally even if neither of you had any intentions of it, and that is of course fine. But we ask you to move those conversations to another platform, like a private chat on Element. If you are made uncomfortable by another member's interactions with you, in private or in public, or feel another member is acting in bad faith about these rules, do not hesitate reporting it to the staff.
  • Do not upload or link to sexualized, violent or disturbing media. All media must be unquestionably safe for work, including avatars. Do not upload or link to any kind of nudity or titillating pictures. Do not hint at or give instructions on how to find or access grey zone or illegal media, such as child nudity or child pornography. Do not upload or link to everyday pictures of real children, such as social media pictures shared by the children themselves or their parents. News reports and official celebrity pictures may be fine, if there are good reasons for posting or linking to them. It is okay to mention the names of sites with fictional or legal age play pornography, including names of artists and actors. It is okay to mention the names of sites with grey zone or illegal media too, but only after they have been completely shut down, with little probability of coming back again.
  • Do not upload photos of real persons unless they have consented to it being posted on our site. Do not upload artwork depicting a real person. Do not upload any media or post any text unless you have the full permissions of the copyright holder to do so. In all cases where it's possible to do so, link to it instead. The exception to the copyright rule is avatars, as long as they are cropped and downscaled versions of artwork and do not depict a real person. That falls under fair use.
  • Do not admit to currently having or in the past having had a romantic or sexual relationship with a minor. It is your own local laws that apply here, but a person below 16 is always a minor even if your local laws says otherwise. Do not even hint about having had such a relationship with vague wording. This is both for your own safety, and for the safety of this forum.
  • Do not admit to viewing or having viewed child pornography in the past. Do not even hint about it with vague wording. This is both for your own safety, and for the safety of this forum. Child pornography is any pornographic content with a real person below 18. It is okay to admit viewing fictional content, as long as that is legal in your own jurisdiction.
  • Do not act in bad faith or maliciously in any way. Do not try to disrupt the community, or cause flame wars. Do not spam, upload or link to viruses or other harmful content. Do not try to tempt members into romantic or sexual relationships with minors, or into seeking out child nudity or child pornography. Do not accuse other members of having such relationships or viewing such material. Do not crawl the site. Do not try to collect personal information about members. Do not cooperate with antis in any way. Do not report members to the police; instead, report them to staff so we can handle it. Do not try to hack the site or get access to other members' accounts. Do not try to bring the site offline. Do not use our site to cause aggression or hostile actions towards other sites, not even sites belonging to antis.
  • Do not doxx other people, not even antis, not even people who aren't members here. Do not share personal information about another person without their consent. Do not share things from private DMs or private group chats, unless you have the consent of all involved. Do not tell what aliases another person goes by on other platforms, unless you have their consent. If another member is harassing you, report them or contact staff. Do not take screenshots of posts from here, unless you have the author's consent. Do not quote posts from here in such a way it is possible to tell who is the author, unless you have the author's consent to do so. Do not share files downloaded from here on other places, unless you have the author's consent to do so.
  • If uncertain if something is okay or not, ask staff for clarification and confirmation.

Staff has discussed and voted about a rule change that is now effective immediately.

We hope that by avoiding assigning contact labels to ourselves, we can create a more inclusive atmosphere and aid collaboration. To help with this, we are now changing the relevant rules before the launch of the site.

The old text was like this (red is what we now remove).
Do not argue contact stances. It is okay to talk about contact stances with the intention of guiding our activism, so it really is inclusive to all MAPs regardless of contact stance. It is okay to tell what your contact stance is. It is not okay to argue another contact stance is wrong in any way, or suggesting that people with a certain contact stance are of lesser worth or a burden to the MAP movement in any way. It is not okay to suggest your contact stance is better or more right. If you tell why you have your contact stance, be very careful not to imply it is the right contact stance. Discussions about child-adult sex, child porn or age of consent are considered contact-stance discussions. If someone wishes to discuss these topics with you, it is fine to do so in private messages.
The new text is like this (green is new additions).
This is not a place for contact stances. It is okay to talk about contact stances with the intention of guiding our activism, so it really is inclusive to all MAPs regardless of contact stance. The motivation for the change is because the goal of this forum is specifically to collaborate on activism for MAP rights we all agree on, regardless of contact stances. We feel there is no need for saying ones contact stance when our goal is specifically to avoid contact specific activism, and we feel implying ones contact stance and opinions may be divisive and not aid our goal. We hope you understand and agree, but we also welcome constructive feedback about this if you feel otherwise. Please post it in the forum feedback subforum in that case.

We will edit some introduction posts the next few days so they comply with these new rules. We will notify you by PM if we have done so, and you are free to edit your introduction post afterwards too if you feel it became a bit empty because of that.

We didn't have any rules about usernames, so we added some in preparation for the forum launch. They are effective immediately.
Pick a username that is easy to write and say, and that is unique to you.

We have clarified the community rules about what kind of illegal content isn't okay to admit to here, and what laws apply. The text in the original post has been updated with the new version, like always.

Old rules:
Do not upload or link to sexualized, violent or disturbing media, especially illegal media. All media must be unquestionably safe for work, including avatars. Do not upload or link to any kind of nudity or titillating pictures. Do not hint at or give instructions on how to find or access grey zone or illegal media. Do not upload or link to everyday pictures of real children, such as social media pictures shared by the children themselves or their parents. News reports and official celebrity pictures may be fine, if there are good reasons for posting or linking to them. It is okay to mention the names of legal sites and actors, and names of artists. It is okay to mention the names of illegal sites too, but only after they have been completely shut down, with little probability of coming back again.

Do not admit illegal things you are doing or have done in your past, unless you have been convicted. Do not even hint about it with vague wording. It is for your own safety, and the safety of this forum and all its members. If you need help and support related to current or past illegal activity, we advise you to take a look at our list of friendship and support sites where you can discuss these things a little bit more openly.

Do not act in bad faith or maliciously in any way. ... Do not spam, upload or link to viruses or illegal content. Do not try to tempt members into illegal activity or content. Do not accuse other members of illegal activity.
New rules:
Do not upload or link to sexualized, violent or disturbing media. All media must be unquestionably safe for work, including avatars. Do not hint at or give instructions on how to find or access grey zone or illegal media, such as child nudity or child pornography. Do not admit to currently having or in the past having had a romantic or sexual relationship with a minor. It is your own local laws that apply here, but a person below 16 is always a minor even if your local laws says otherwise. Do not even hint about having had such a relationship with vague wording. This is both for your own safety, and for the safety of this forum.

Do not admit to viewing or having viewed child pornography in the past. Do not even hint about it with vague wording. This is both for your own safety, and for the safety of this forum. Child pornography is any pornographic content with a real person below 18. It is okay to admit viewing fictional content, as long as that is legal in your own jurisdiction.
